Depotting

Okay, I have never heard of depotting before I stumble across one of my favorite YouTuber's video months ago. I will admit, I was hesitant at first. But I got a eye shadow palette (Thanks Lorraine!) and decided to give this 'depotting' a go. It's addictive! I depotted five or six eye shadows before I got tired.

So what is depotting? It's simply removing your overshadows from the MAC original container. (Then adding them to a palette if you like.) You can take the 6 cases back to MAC for the 'Back To MAC' program and get a free products! If you have thought about depotting but thought it was to much work, give it a try! It's so worth it. :)

The beginning product

Take a box cutter or a knife and wedge the two parts of the containers apart.

Here it is out.

Take some tongs and a lighter and melt the bottom of the container for about 30 to 40 seconds. (Or until it starts to melt.)

Once the plastic is melted, take a knife, scissors, or box cutter and push the metal pan out of the plastic. Please be careful. (I used my knife)

You can either get some magnetic strips and put your eyeshadow in the palette, or do like I did. :) Moving quickly, As soon as I popped out the metal pan, it was already pretty sticky. I quickly placed the sticky pan in the palette and it stuck! BINGO!

You can take your lighter again and quickly pass it along the bottle of your original case for about 15 or 20 seconds. This will melt the glue on the bottom of your label. Peel off the label and stick it on your palette as to help identify your colors.

Happy Depotting!!

NOTD (Nail Of The Day)

I ordered new nail polish from Carolyn of New York and was itching to to give it try. My first polish used was Spring Street. This color looked more pinkish on the site but it's really a nude color. Even though it wasn't what I expected, I am still okay with the color. The application was smooth. I used three coats to get the color intensity.
Here is the color with and without a flash.

I can't wait to see how this polish 'wear'. *Carolyn's products are DBP Free.*
